Practice and Games Start Soon

805 Lacrosse High School Parents and Players,

PACIFIC LACROSSE LEAGUE GAMES: Our schedule is still being formed but we are expecting to play approximately 12 games beginning Feb 17th and running through early May. Games will typically be on Saturdays. Hopefully, we will have around 5 home games and another 7 games on the road. We will do our best to arrange the away games so that the travel can be accomplished in a single day to our opponents’ in Bakersfield, Camarillo, Santa Clarita, etc. We have not secured the field for our home games yet, but we are looking into several different options in SLO.

PRACTICE FIELD: We expect to have players from high schools across SLO County. Since we will have players that live from Templeton and Paso Robles down to AG and Nipomo, practicing in SLO makes the most sense. We anticipate that all our practices will be held at Bishop’s Peak Elementary School in SLO.

PRACTICE SCHEDULE: As much as we would like to have a set, consistent practice schedule, the reality is that our schedule is going to change over time and will depend on which days of the week work best for both the players and coaches. We don’t have a lighted practice field, so that puts limitations on our options early in the season.

Here is the plan for January.

Fridays: January 12, 19, 26 from 4:00 p.m. until dark (approximately 5:30 – 5:45)

Saturdays: January 13, 20, 27 from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.

We will reassess the practice days and likely increase the number of practices in February. February will be a critical month for getting prepared for the start of the season in early March. We will do our absolute best to establish a workable practice schedule for everyone in order to achieve consistent player attendance and productive practices.

REGISTRATION STATUS: Players do not need to be registered with 805 Lacrosse to attend the first few practices in January but will need to be registered by the end of January at the latest. Players will need to have a current US Lacrosse membership to practice at any time due to our insurance requirements.

Potential players who have not played lacrosse before are welcome to join us in January to see what the game is all about. We will have extra sticks available and will also be hosting a few free clinics on Saturdays later in January.
